B>Professional Qualificationsbr> < br> 1983 I gained membership to The Chartered Society Of Physiotherapy from The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Birmingham. 1987 I gained qualifications to use acupunture for the relief of pain. 1990 I gained full membership to The Society Of Orthopaedic Medicine click 1993 The Clinic is opened and I joined The OCPPP (organisation of Chartered physiotherapists in private practice) click 1997 I gained the Advanced Certificate in Physiotherapy in Occupational Health from The University Of East Anglia. Areas of Specialism During my 10 years working in the NHS,and prior to establishing the Clinic,I enjoyed my role as Clinical Supervisor to Physiotherapy students.I also set up and ran the sports injury clinic at Mayday hospital Croydon.A wide selection of post graduate training completed during these years has helped to influence my present approaches to treatment. I have a particular interest in the management of spinal problems and enjoy the challenges they present which can differ from patient to patient. Using a variety of approaches to treatment and rehabilitation enables me to adapt to varying needs.I feel strongly that patient education and involvement is key to full recovery and an important part of any treatment programme. I will always spend time explaining the relevant anatomy, physiology and bio-mechanics related to a problem and encourage self management of symptoms as much as is possible. Occupational and ergonomic factors are always taken into account and workplace assessments and training can be arranged if appropriate. At present I am working on my own so you can be sure that you will always see me on every visit! If you ring up for advice then it will be me that you speak to and I will personally arrange your appointment times. The majority of my patients come through word of mouth and recommendation and it is not unusual for me to have treated three generations of the same family! I will endevour to make you feel as comfortable as possible at all times and will discuss your treatment plan with you at every step of the way. If you would like to bring somebody with you to the Clinic then that is fine and they can either stay in the waiting room or accompany you to treatment. | |
